Don't you just love it when I take forever just to make ONE PANEL of a comic to just get through ONE POINT?? 
I'm back with more lameness (yay to whoever it was who misses my lameness
). Inspired when reading The Legend of Zelda - Oracle of Seasons manga, particularly at this line when Link gains power:
Link: A-and now a TREE is talking?!
Piyoko: It's not that he's talking... it's that you can "hear" him.
So I thought it'd look odd if normal people were to see him talking to trees. =_=" Lame, I know.
Originally, I wanted to make Link's eyes look even more retarded, but I couldn't
I also chose Malon because she's most likely to not know about this (or talk to trees) and that she's spunky so she fits that look.
No reference used for the background and trees. Reference used for basic form of characters.

Basically, Link's power in him (the triforce) was beginning to awaken, and stuff like animals and plants could suddenly talk to him. To others, it'll just appear as if he's talking to some inanimate tree. So yeah.
